The Mirror Effect

Proverbs 13:20

Did you know that most behavior is learned behavior? Sometimes, in life’s frustrations, we have all asked ourselves “Why did I do that?”. The easiest and most common response to this question is often, “I’m just like that” or “That’s how I am” or “I’m just doing me”.

All of these replies are incorrect, to say the least. Everything that you have learned to do, you have copied from someone else. It may not be a direct copy, but we often mirror people we see…in person or on the screen. This started to lead me to the thought, “What if I intentionally mirrored someone that I respect and admire?” The results from this are mind blowing. It’s quite simple and phenomenal at the same time.
It has been said over and over by most successful, happy, and healthy people in the world…”If you want to be successful, study successful people.”. If you want to be rich, do everything a rich person does. If you want to be healthy, copy what a healthy person does. If you want your relationship to work, don’t mimic single people. So…take a moment to think of what you see in YOUR mirror.
